Pantai Kok
Shopping
Located on the West side of Langkawi and away from Pantai Cenang,
Pantai Kok is know best for its yachting and relaxation. If you’re not looking into going into Pantai Cenang
or Kuah to shop, the best shopping experience on Pantai Kok would be at the Oriental Village. The
village is a picturesque setup in the façade of Asian culture.
It is a pleasant area with many things to do here. Apart from the
sight-seeing, there are lots of tidbits and hot snacks that can be purchased as you walk around the Oriental
Village. Souvenir shops can be seen here and many of them sell clothes and hats to complement your beach
holiday. Most of the shops here sell duty-free goods, handicrafts and branded goods such as leather wear and
casual attire. Some of the items found in these shops are duty free liquor and cigarettes which are much
cheaper than the ones you find on the mainland.
Here, you can also find many locally made wooden products with
carvings, ceramic objects, as well as cultural pieces such as batik and floral motive dresses.
You can also head down to the Telaga Harbour Park
to walk around but it’s mostly apt for a shopping break more than anything, with its array of restaurants,
pubs, and cafes. Relatively new, it is the place to look out for.
