Pantai Cenang Shopping

A major part of a holiday is bringing back things to remind you of a wonderful time spent, especially at Langkawi. There are two main shopping highlights on Pantai Cenang, one being the Zon duty-free shopping complex and the other, the Temoyong Pasar Malam. 

The Zon duty free shopping complex is situated right next to the Underwater World. It is here that you will be able to find all sorts of liquor, beer, spirits, for a tax-free price! You can also find various brands of cigarettes here for cheap, not to mention imported chocolates, biscuits, sweets and perfumes, and all the goodies you would find at the airport. There is a limit to how many bottles of alcohol and cartons of cigarettes you can bring off the island, or they would tax you (and that wouldn’t be so cool after all the fun of purchasing it for cheaper). But if you plan to consume it all on the island, worry not! 

The Pasar Malam literally translates to ‘night market’. The Temoyong Pasar Malam consists of traders who set up makeshift stalls to vend their goods. Here you will be able to find all sorts of bits from fashion items to electronic devices, to food and fresh produce. The pasar malam is found at different locations every night, but on Thursdays you will find it at Temoyong.
