Kuah
Kuah is Langkawi’s main town, where the ferries arrive at the island. It is filled with shops and
restaurants and is the only area where you would find banks. While there are many hotels in Kuah, there aren’t any
resorts here possibly due to the lack of beach and Kuah’s commercial development. Next to the jetty is an
attractive landscaped ‘folklore theme park’, the Lagenda Langkawi Dalam Taman, where several Langkawi legends are
illustrated by colourful statues.

Pantai Cenang
Noted as the most popular beach in Langkawi, the Cenang Beach is 2 km of beautiful soft white sands and
clear blue sea. This is where most of the beach resorts and chalets are. It is also flanked by a good selection of
restaurants, bars, and shops. A very popular stop is the Zon duty-free shopping haven and next to it is the
Underwater World featuring about 200 species of marine and freshwater life.

Pantai Tengah
Separated from Pantai Cenang by a small cape, Pantai Cenang shares the same beautiful beach features of
white sands and clear water. The added value here is its extra degree of quietness. There are some excellent
restaurants here along with some inclusive resorts which are mostly popular with young families. There are other
basic chalets available here too.

seclusion on a serene beach. Surrounding it is limestone mountains and jungle, and deeper into Pantai Kok you will

Datai Bay
Langkawi’s best resorts are nestled here, beyond the crowds. Hidden by a tropical rainforest, this
secluded beach offers gorgeous sights, including Thailand’s coastline on a good day. One of Langkawi’s most
exclusive resorts, Golf Club Datai Bay is located here and is said to be among Malaysia’s top 10
courses.

Tanjung Rhu
Langkawi’s better and wider beaches can be found at Tanjung Rhu. It is also known as Casuarina Beach for
its abundance of Casuarina trees that adorn it. The beach is covered by the curve of the bay and its waters are
shallow and warm, presenting the perfect idea of walking along the sandbank. Two of the most expensive luxury
resorts have the opportunity of the soft, sandy beaches.
