Kuah is the town of which you would arrive at
by ferry. Here you will be greeted with car rental agents and taxis to take you to your holiday destination. It is
Langkawi’s main town, where you will find all the conveniences such as banks, business complexes, duty free shops,
shopping malls and not to mention hotels. It does not have a proper beach, but it is said to be a shopping location
and a great place for sight-seeing.
The Eagle Square (Dataran Lang) is where you would find restaurants,
terraces and the great eagle statue that is the landmark of the island which makes for a majestic greeting
for visitors upon arrival.
The Kuah attractions are mainly the Lagenda Theme Park, Makam Mahsuri
(Mahsuri’s Tomb), The Golf Club, and the Al- Hana mosque. Also located here is the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club
where the Regatta is held at every year.

Based at the central district of Langkawi where most of its business is
done, Kuah has a host of hotels to accommodate the business traveller and those who want to know more of the
story of Langkawi. Although Kuah isn’t famously known for its beaches, the hotels here can fulfil any
vacationer’s satisfactions in terms of lodging and quality service. Pantai Cenang, Langkawi’s most popular
beach is a 20 minute drive from Kuah.
Shopping in Kuah
The highlights here are its duty-free advantages. Walking around Kuah
will bring you to duty-free shops, local crafts, and all sorts of bits and bobs found all over town. A series
of international and local products can be found here, from food to clothes, to accessories and hand-made
ornaments which make very pretty souvenirs.
